Cannabis Leaf Coaster

Contrado

  • Surface of a cannabis leaf (Cannabis sativa). The pointed hairs are called lithocyst cells, containing cystolyths (calcium carbonate crystals). Glandular cells called trichomes are present in the foreground. Capitate trichomes have stalks, whereas peltate trichomes are rounded and closer to the leaf surface. Trichomes secrete a resin containing tetrahydrocannabinol, which is the main psychoactive part of the cannabis plant, used as a drug. Imaged with scanning electron microscopy (SEM)
